About Us
Banda District Assembly was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I. 2092) in 2012 with Banda Ahenkro as the district capital. Covering 2,298 km², the district is home to over 28,000 people, mostly engaged in agriculture and fishing. Our Assembly exists to deliver accountable governance, promote development, and improve the lives of all residents.

Our Mission
The mission of Banda District Assembly is to eradicate poverty and improve the quality of life of its people. We do this through citizen participation in decision-making, mobilization of human and material resources, and promoting local economic development.

2012 – Creation & Growth
Banda District was inaugurated in 2012 and has since established structures for planning, finance, agriculture, and social services.
2019 – Expanding Services
New health facilities, water projects, and classrooms were delivered to strengthen education, health, and sanitation.
2020 – Recognition & Partnerships
Our collaborations with NGOs like Resource Link Foundation, SODIA, and Bright Generation Community Foundation have been recognized regionally.
2021 – Sustainable Development Goals
The Assembly aligned its District Medium-Term Development Plan with the UN SDGs, ensuring inclusive and climate-resilient growth.
